NTS is the annual summer conference for all Shido-kan karate practitioners.

NTS instruction is led by head master teacher, Seikichi Iha, Hanshi, 10th Dan, along with Shido-kan Sensei’s and seniors from around the globe.

Throughout the training seminar weekend, you will have the opportunity to improve your knowledge and skills in the fundamentals of Shido-kan technique as well as your understanding of kata, kumite and one-on-one partnership drills and bunkai (group application of kata). 

Youth may sign up to attend a Saturday-only afternoon seminar with Sensei Iha followed by the youth and teen kata tournament.

Kobudo bo sessions will also be included for members of the Ryukyu-Ocho Shurite Kobujutsu Association.

Who Should Attend?

There will be training opportunities for all ranks -- age 4 and above. The Saturday afternoon youth seminar and tournament is for ages 4 -13; Friday - Sunday adult seminars are for ages 14 and above. Seminar sessions are designed so that anyone, no matter what rank or age, will benefit and learn. Most importantly, you'll have a chance to meet, train with, share information and renew contacts with fellow students and teachers from around the world.

NTS will be held in a spacious and convenient "all-in-one" location at the Lexington Lansing Hotel featuring:

• Spacious, air-conditioned and carpeted training areas in the ground floor conference center.
• Changing areas on the ground floor next to the seminar rooms.
• Easy access to lounge areas, pool, restaurant and hotel rooms during breaks.
• Double rooms at a reduced conference flat rate that can be split by multiple people.
• Delicious meals in the hotel restaurant. The hotel will also provide low cost "to go" items for breakfasts and lunches. There are other restaurants close to the hotel as well. (Saturday dinner and Sunday banquet are included in the "Seminar and Events" conference rate.)
